Commissioned by Cabinet Magazine
In Cabinet Magazine’s issue #42, Forgetting, the editors invited Hubbard / Birchler to consider the act of forgetting as a monument in itself—to consider erasure, amnesia, and whether a monument could be designed to memorialize the very thing that it is designed to prevent—namely, forgetting. Hubbard / Birchler’s proposition was to remove a page from the Cabinet Magazine’s issue #42. Their project: Missing Page, page 90-91, created a playful, poignant gap–a lost space which simultaneously appeared and disappeared inside the printed publication.
