Synopsis
Initiated by Andrea Karnes, Curator at the Modern Art Museum Fort Worth, 'No Room to Answer' included a selection of key works from 1991 to 2009, traversing Hubbard/Birchler's explorations of narrative and the realm of cinema as social and physical terrain. The exhibition included photography, video installations and early sculptural works.
Each venue in the touring exhibition included a different selection, configuration and installation of works spanning the past ten years of Hubbard/Birchler's collaborative practice and included excerpts from the artists' archive.
Two publications with texts by Andrea Karnes, Sara Arrhenius, Iris Dressler and Madeleine, Schuppli accompanied the exhibition tour.
